FAQ

Here are a few questions that you may be thinking about or would like to know, If you have any more questions do let me know.

* Do I need a referral?

No, you don't need a referral.

* How long does a session last?

Normally a session will go for 50 mins or 60mins

* Do you see couples?

Yes, I do

* How many sessions will I need?

That all depends on your needs and that can be discussed in your consultation.

* Is Counselling Confidential?

All information remains confidential and will not be disclosed without your consent unless mandated by law. Confidentiality is crucial for fostering a trustful and effective client-counselor relationship. It is a matter of both legal and ethical importance. As a counsellor, I adhere to the Code of Conduct of the ACA, the Australian Counselling Association.

While confidentiality is crucial, there are instances when confidential information must be disclosed. These circumstances include:

- When information is necessary for legal proceedings.
- When clients request their records to be released to themselves or a third party.
- During Clinical Supervision, where the counsellor is involved, but the client's identity remains anonymous.
- If the therapist suspects that a client under 16 is a victim of incest, rape, child abuse, or any other crime.

* What happens at the initial appointment?

I will be listening to you and taking the time to understand what is happening at this point in your life.

I will be making assessment notes to decide which is the right approach to take and to decide which is the help and support that I can provide to you.

I would need to ask you a long list of sexual history questions to get to the root of the issue.

 You will also have the opportunity to ask me any questions that you may have regarding the counselling process.
